< back to blog home

Hello! I know! [SIGH!] I’ve been MIA from blogging on my site for almost a month, but I’m trying to change some things right now in my life such as my home. I’ll let you know in another blog post about it. For now, I wanted to chat with you guys about my trip to Oslo, Norway.

During my trip to Oslo, Norway I visited two places. Lillestrøm and Oslo. The distance is relatively closed from these cities. We travel by train and we got to see all the beautiful picturesque homes and landscapes. To get to the train station in Lillestøm is relatively easy. It is also super easy to take the train. However, if you want to go out to have dinner or party with friends, it would be impossible as everything is open until 9 P.M. I believe this is by law, so this also happens even on the weekends.

Once you are in Oslo which the distance by train from Lillestrøm is about 30-40 minutes. You’ll arrive at the Oslo Sentralstasjon. This is the most modern and luxuries central station I’ve been to. There is even a mall inside! I mean there is no need for you to go out of this train station.

My husband and I wanted to explore Oslo, so we walk to the Oslo Opera house, which is close to the Oslo Sentralstajon. I didn’t get the chance to rent a wheelchair. The hotel where we stayed did not have one available as well. If you are traveling to Oslo, Norway, I highly recommend that you bring a wheelchair with you if you need it!

We also visited the port at Oslo where there are different museums, food trucks parked, and ships/boats to go to different islands. The environment there was super nice, there was music playing from people that play music with their instrument and they have superb skills at it.

We also stop by the Nedre Sllottsgate, which is where there are where all the luxuries shops are located such as Louis Vuitton, Hermès, Channel, etc. What actually called our attention where all the bears that were hanging from the rooftop of each building. I thought it was super cute and different. If you’re staying in Oslo and You’d like to go to Nedre Slottsgate there is no necessity to take the bus (even though you could) I highly recommend you take the trolley. We wanted to experiment taking different public transportation services that Oslo offers and we fall in love with the efficiency of them all.

Before our trip lasted we wanted to visit two important places to visit as tourists. These two were Vigeland Park and Kon-Tiki Museum. The Vigeland Park is the largest sculpture park in the whole world by a single artist. The artist is from Gustav Vigeland. There you’ll find the famous sculpture of the angry boy with the fist. I loved all the sculptures and the park itself. I highly recommended! If you’ve seen the movie Kon-Tiki then you know that if you’re in Oslo you must stop by the Kon-Tiki museum. I love every minute of it! In the Kon-Tiki museum, you’ll find the original Kon-Tiki raft. You can also tour around the museum and find like a cool cave with the treasures found from the trip amongst other things!

If you have read it until here and are wondering about the cleanliness and prices in Oslo. I should say that Oslo and Lillestrøm were indeed pretty clean. I did not see trash on the streets or smell any awful odors. However, it is pretty pricey. Therefore, if you want to travel to Oslo, Norway, which I highly recommend, then keep in mind about your spending budget as you can end up over spending it. if you are like me and think about food, no worries! Oslo has an amazing variety of food for everyone. The best is that it does not disappoint.

Yes, I’d love to come back to Norway. I can see myself traveling with my daughter as I know it is safe for her and for us as parents. I think it would be an awesome trip if we plan it well. As traveling with kids there is also of logistics involved. Well, I hope you have enjoyed this travel blog pots. You know that I love to share with all of you about my travels. Hopefully, you find it interesting and helpful.
