The Carolinas and D.C.

Every summer I like to travel. This time was not an exception and I went on a road trip to North Carolina (Charlotte and Raleigh), South Carolina (Myrtle Beach) and Washington D.C. It was a long and exhausting trip. However, it was totally worth it! I couldn’t vlog because I really wanted to lay back and enjoy the adventure! (plus I was kind of exhausted from driving) So, this post will be divided into the three different places that I visited. Let’s start with North Carolina.

My stay in North Carolina began in Charlotte. Let me tell you that I love this city. I kind of wanted to stay there forever! It is so charming, colorful, classic and adventurous. I stayed there for only 3 days, but it was enough to enjoy everything it has to offer. Wondering the streets of its Downtown, I found beautiful art, flowers everywhere and food trucks! There is also a park where I saw locals having lunch and/or enjoying the night after work. I did go to several restaurants such as Vida Mexican Kitchen, Fujo Uptown Bistro, Amélie’s French Bakery, just to name a few. I enjoyed every single minute in that city and I am definitely going back!

I only spent one day in Raleigh, but it was totally worth it. I visited some family members and I actually had a great time. They showed me around the city and I am very fascinated with it. During my day, we went to a restaurant called State Farmers Market Restaurant to have brunch, then we visited the Farmer Market. After that, we spent some time at the James B. Hunt Jr. Library. It is such a modern and technological library, plus I love all the different types of seats! One of my favorite places was the Raleigh Beer Garden, where you can drink any type of international, national beers and cocktails! Thus, Raleigh was an incredible experience even though I stayed for such little time. I am looking forward to going back, but I will stay more than one day.

Myrtle Beach was a one of kind trip. This is because I was looking forward to spending some time at the beach. I traveled this March to Nicaragua and on the first week of June, I went to Panama (I’ll be writing two posts about these trips soon) However, I could not visit any of the beaches there. In Myrtle Beach, I stayed in Dayton House Resort just for one night. Still, it was a magnificent night because I could tour around and had so much fun! The beach is beautiful, and the feeling of the sand on my feet was just magnificent! After I checked out from the hotel, I went to the Helicopter Rides, and it was pretty fun because it was my first time in a helicopter. To finish the day, I went to Broadway at the Beach, where I had a really good lunch and enjoyed shopping around.

To end up my road trip, I had to visit Washington D.C.  It was my first time there, so it was awesome. I stayed for 3 days and I got to see various museums such as The National Museum of Natural History, National Air and Space Museum, National Gallery of Art,  and Smithsonian American Art Museum. I began my first day by going to the museums. If you are going to the museums, you can spend almost 40 minutes waiting to enter. Therefore, you should go through the other entrance (there are two entrances) it may have some people waiting. Moreover, that same day I took pictures at the Capitol and visited Dupont Circle. It is a nice place where most of the embassies are located. The second day of my stay I went to The White House, and surrounding places, such as the Chinatown and Georgetown. I also went to the Pentagon Memorial and at the end of that day visited Bethesda, Maryland, where I had the best tacos for dinner. The last day, I actually didn’t want to do anything because I was really tired. So, I stayed at the hotel and enjoyed the pool and its amenities. I think being tired is a good thing because that means that you actually enjoyed your trips!

On another note, I was supposed to upload this post on Wednesday. Unfortunately, I got caught up working on other projects. Therefore, it was pretty difficult to post it. Just to let you know, I’ll be posting new content every Wednesday and Friday (starting next week) If you have any questions or comments about any of these cities, please let me know. I hope you had enjoyed this post as much as I enjoyed writing it.
